VERNON RALPH BRADLEY, 60, Harts, died Tues., Apr. 22, 2008, at the VA
Medical Center; born Jan. 6, 1948, at Omar,son of the late William
& Bell Bradley, raised by the late Dave & Zada Tackett. He was
predeceased by: sister, JoAnn Bradley; brother, Herman Tackett;
sister-in-law, Wanda Tackett.
Vernon was a retired coal miner, an avid hunter, and a Vietnam veteran.
He was a very well loved husband and father, who never met a stranger.
Surviving: wife, Alice Bradley; children, JoAnn (Mitch) Black, Vernon
(Dee Dee) Bradley Jr.; grandson, Draven Hatfield Bradley; siblings,

DEWELL B. DUNLAP, 80, Red House died Wed., Apr. 23, 2008; widower of
Naomi; also predeceased by: son, Douglas Dunlap; bros., Eugene &
Garneth Dunlap, sis., Cosette
Known as the Gov. of Red House to many and was a faithful husband,
loving father, grandfather and great grandfather; attended N.
Charleston Apostolic Church and was a WWII Seaman 1st class Navy
veteran and was a master electrician from 1950 until his death and
retired from Buffalo Mfg.
Surviving: children, Robert Dunlap (Brenda) of Red House, Wilma Smith
(Gary) of Sumerco, Brenda Good (David) of Poca, Thomas Dunlap (Marie)
of Portsmouth, Va.; 24 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Gatens-Harding Funeral Home, Poca, with Anthony Moss & Richard
McCallister; burial in Wade Chapel Church Cem., Red House.

ORA ELIZABETH FITZWATER, 82, St. Albans died Mon., Apr. 21, 2008, in
Atlanta, GA; born Jan. 2, 1926, in Island Ck., dau. of the late Wilmer
& Dora Adkins Kinder; widow of G. E. Fitzwater; also predeceased
by: son, David E. Fitzwater; siblings, Joe, Carl, Clifford, Bill &
Hershel Kinder; sister, Dorothy Allen.
Ora was a loving wife and mother and was very devoted to her family.
She was a very giving person to all who knew her; an artist and loved
to play Bingo. Her last vacation was to the Smokey Mountains where she
loved to visit.
Surviving: dau., Elizabeth Gail Fitzwater of Sandy Spgs., Ga.; sisters,
Betty Pauley of Alum Creek & Oma Wilkinson of Charlotte, NC;

BIRDIE FRY, 85, Ferrellsburg, died Thurs., April 17, 2008, at the home
of her dau., Joyce Dean of St. Albans; born July 13, 1922, in Harts,

Bryant and also predeceasd by: husband Curtis Fry; sons,
Michael Roy Fry & James Vincent Fry; great grandson, Nathan Runyon;

She was a homemaker, member of the Ferrellsburg Church of Christ and
attended for the last 15 months, until health prevented her, the
Marling Gospel Tabernacle, St. Albans.

Med. Ctr.; born May 13, 1937, in Lincoln Co., son of the late Elba
& Gracie McComas Frye; widower of Janet Gail Payton Frye; also

PAUL E. HAMMOND, 84, Pliny,
died Thurs., Apr. 17, at Holzer Med. Ctr., Gallipolis, OH; born July
28, 1923, in Branchland, son of the late Smith J. & Ocie Young
Hammond and also preceded in death by seven siblings.
He was a
retired welder and electrician from Kenneth M. Dunn, a member of Mt.
Union UMC and United Steelworker’s Local 14614, S. Charleston.

WILLIAM C. MAYO, 84, Logan, died Mon., Apr. 21,
2008, in Logan Reg. Med. Center; born Apr. 10, 1924, in Glen Allen, son
of the late Harve C. & Erma Shelor Mayo. Also preceding him in
death: brother, Ray Mayo.
Mr. Mayo was a retired salesman for
Hulbert Oil, a member of the Nighbert Memorial United Methodist Church
of Logan, and was a Staff Sgt. during WWII serving with the U.S. Army.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed his family.

JAMES “Ken” PAULEY, 62, Sissonville died in CAMC General Hospital Div.,
Charleston, due to injuries from an automobile accident; widower of
Mary Pauley.
Ken proudly served in the Army, was a retired purchasing director for KRT, and attended Grapevine Primitive Advent Church.

D. RYAN Jr., 60, formerly of Elkview, died Fri., Apr. 18, 2008, at
Eldercare of Ripley; son of the late Eugene D. & Marie Hill Ryan.
He
was a graduate of East Bank High School and West Virginia Tech; former
employee of Appalachian Power in Charleston and Wall Conveyor in
Huntington; a Christian and member of Lens Ck. Miss. Baptist Church.

MD., Ada McCormick of S. Charleston, Lou Cassle of Yawkey & Trudy

Manor in Ceredo, W.Va., and recent resident of Morning Point of
Ashland, Ky.Hospice House of Huntington.
