OLLIE BELL 'Dingess' STOWERS, of Griffithsville, WV, born June 16, 1930, passed away Thursday, September 2, 1010, at the age of 80 years, two months and 17 days old. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Delma 'Burton' Dingess.

She was also predeceased by: husband, Buster L. Stowers; twin brother, Gerald Dingess; half brother, Lawrence Burton; father- & mother-in-law, Frank and Ealy Stowers of Parsner.

She was a homemaker, part owner and manager of Osborne & Co. Store, member of Eden Baptist Church and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all.

Survivors: sons, Buster (Betty) Stowers Jr. of Wharton, WV and Thomas (Marcella) Stowers of Hamlin, WV; daughter, Naomi (Jim) Linville of Griffithsville, WV; six grandchildren, Crystal (Terry) Clay, Teresa Pauley, Mike (La Tonya) Stowers, Tonya Stowers, Thomas Stowers II and Jessi Linville; six great grandchildren, Morgan Linville, Devin Hager, Derek Stowers, Meghan Pauley, Kaleigh Linville and Mikey Stowers.

Funeral service was held 2pm Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, WV by Rev. Delbert Lucas, Rev. Watson Wiley and Rev. Rexal Cooper; interment in Stowers Cemetery, Griffithsville, WV.

Visitation held 6-8pm Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, WV.


HELEN DAILEY BARNETTE, 74, Richmond, VA, formerly of W. Hamlin, died Th., Au.. 26, 2010 in Richmond, VA. 

With Wallace Funeral Home, Milton in charge, memorial service held at a later date.


ELVA CLEO MULLINS BRYANT, 54, Branchland, died Th., Au.. 26, 2010. 

She was a homemaker.

COLTUS M. BYRD, 94, Yawkey, died Tu., Au. 31, 2010, after a long illness; predeceased by: husband, William Byrd; dau., Berniece Spears.

She was pastor of the Church of God in Sod for 44 years.

Survivors: children, Calvin of Sod, Herman of Baton Rouge, LA, Freeman Byrd of Yawkey, Bertie Gearheart of Shelby OH; 20 grandchildren; 11 great; grandchildren; 17 great great grandchildren.

WILLARD W. CHAPMAN, Huntington, widower of Mildred G. Chapman, died Tu. Au. 24, 2010; born in Lincoln Co., son of the late Arch & Bessie Roberts Chapman.

He retired from Houdialle Ind.; Christian and Baptist by faith; member of IOOF Lodge 64 & Rebekah Lodge 164, both of Huntington; US Army vet.

LONZO H. DEAN, 81, Robinette, died Fr., Au. 27, 2010, at home; born Mar. 10, 1929, in Lincoln Co., son of the late William Hendrick & Vada Hazelett Dean; also predeceased by: dau., Bridgette Lee Dean; many siblings.

Retired from the Chessie System RR; Korean War, US Army vet; also of Pentecostal Faith.

Survivors: wife of 59 years, Georgia Ann Browning Dean; children, Joe (Patty) of W. JULIA B. HILL FULLER, 80, wife of Robert “Bob” L. Fuller of Anderson, SC, died Tu., Au. 31, 2010 at NHC HealthCare in Anderson; born in Lincoln Co Au. 12, 1930, dau. of the late John Andrew & Martha Jane McClure Hill. 

Formerly of Huntington and was a homemaker; member of New Prospect Bapt. Ch., where she was active in the Clowns for Christ Ministry.
